Bob serves as CEO of RAR Hospitality. He is an internationally recognized hotelier with over 40 years of hospitality-related management experience. Recognized by his "hotel guru," moniker, Bob shares insights and industry trends at www.hotelguru.com. He has held nearly every position in the hotel business including General Manager of full-service four Diamond hotels for Hilton and Embassy Suites. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration from Western International University and a master’s degree in Tourism Administration from Arizona State University. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator and has served as chairman of numerous tourism organizations nationally and locally (San Diego and Phoenix) and is editorial advisor and board member for CCR-Magazine and Destination Elite.
Bob has been directly involved in developing several hotels including the Del Mar Marriott, Hilton Hotel Gaslamp Plaza, Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad, Hilton Hotel Santa Clara and several Marriott resort hotels. In addition to being the "Hotel Guru" he publishes Hospitality Innsights, an electronic newsletter and is a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University where he teaches Hospitality Entrepreneurship.
Cameron Lamming is a partner and principal at RAR Hospitality focusing on business development and acquisitions. Cameron’s focus is on company growth through sourcing and executing hotel acquisitions. Prior to joining RAR, Cameron worked at Brixton Capital, an opportunistic investment vehicle with assets totaling over $4 billion, where he was responsible for the acquisitions group. His primary responsibilities included sourcing, analyzing and evaluating acquisition opportunities and executing business plans on more complicated projects. Over the course of two and a half years, Cameron executed 34 deals totaling $550 million. Prior to joining Brixton, Cameron worked for The Walt Disney Company beginning in Global Business Development for the Parks & Resorts Division advising senior leadership on domestic and international theme park, hotel, cruise line and timeshare strategies. He later joined the Corporate Finance team that acted as the in-house financial advisor to the company. Among their primary responsibilities were overseeing the company’s capital structure and liquidity profile, managing Disney’s rating agency and banking relationships and taking on special structured finance and acquisition projects for the company’s larger transactions.
Cameron graduated with a degree in Economics from Stanford University where he was a member of the varsity soccer team for four years.
Marc Potash quickly rose through the ranks to serve as RAR Hospitality’s COO and President. He has 15 years of operations management, strategy, and business development experience leading cross-functional teams within the hospitality, entertainment, and technology industries. Marc prides himself on his joy for taking on the tasks that others may consider tedious. His team-first approach and steadfast work ethic have been instrumental in the company's stellar growth.
Originally from Philadelphia, Marc’s career began in Los Angeles where his superb attention to detail and naturally hospitable personality led him to the entertainment industry. He worked directly with A-list talent in both personal and professional capacities adhering to stringent privacy agreements. Marc quickly gained the trust of executives and professionals throughout the industry, a skill that translates directly to his work in the hospitality industry.
A family man by every definition of the term, Marc spends much of his time outside of work with his wife and children. His other passions include travel, volunteering in the community, serving on non-profit Boards of Directors, and personal health and fitness.
Marc has a BA from Syracuse University and an MBA from the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego where he frequently participates in various panels, evaluation committees, and is a past member of the Alumni Association Board.
Bob Moore is a 30-year veteran of Hilton Hotels and came to San Diego from the Valley Forge (PA) Hilton in 1999 as General Manager to open the first oceanfront Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) at Carlsbad Beach. He was instrumental in securing political, environmental, community and financial support for a second Hilton property, the Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa, which opened ahead of schedule and under budget. This hotel contributed 250 new jobs in North County San Diego and was the “only major hotel built west of the Mississippi in 2012.” He was Vice President and General Manager with responsibility for both properties until joining us in January of 2013.
Bob's commitment to excellence is exemplified by the numerous awards bestowed upon him and the properties under his management. These include General Manager of the Year, Hilton Hotel of the Year, a seat on the prestigious 6-member General Manager Operations Panel, the highest Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) in the HGI brand, twenty-three consecutive Outstanding Quality Assurance Reviews and six consecutive years of Highest Team Member Satisfaction. He served as Vice Chairman of San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau and Chairman of the Board of the City of Carlsbad Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Jessica Woolfrey has been with RAR Hospitality for nearly 10 years. Her work ethic, passion and dedication have been instrumental to RAR’s phenomenal growth over the past few years. As the Vice President of Human Resources, Jessica brings strengths in recruitment, employee relations, recognition, development, training and workers’ compensation. Her ability to design and deploy HR practices to align with our properties’ business goals and objectives is unparalleled. From keeping track of the array of changes in labor law to evaluating and reducing employee turnover, she excels in addressing the day-to-day challenges we encounter.
Team members are what matter most to Jessica. Her greatest joy comes from helping employees grow and develop within the company. This passion is what propels her to do whatever it takes to help RAR expand and provide new opportunities for the team. Simply put, RAR would not be the company it is today without Jessica.
Prior to her role with RAR Hospitality, Jessica was Director of Human Resources at the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites San Diego/Del Mar Campus. Her particular passion for employment law ensures a positive, productive, fair and consistent employment environment.
A 10-year veteran with RAR Hospitality, Andrew Kalfayan began his career working as a guest service agent while attending California State University, San Marcos. Andrew graduated from CSUSM with his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. After graduation, he rapidly progressed from Front Office Manager to Operations Manager to Assistant General Manager.
Now serving as Director of Accounting, Andrew’s gamut of hospitality management skills is put to full use on a daily basis. Knowing the ins and outs of operations allows him to quickly process requests and nimbly go from task to task without missing a beat. The financial success of each of RAR’s hotels is what fuels Andrew and propels him to assist with tasks outside of his own department. A true team player, Andrew immediately jumps into any situation to ensure our guests are taken care of at all times.
A San Diego native, Andrew is very passionate about the Chargers and is excited to have them here at least one more season.
Steven Manners’ career began at the age of 13 when he started his first marketing company, xoxoDesigns. Primarily focused on logo and web design for local music artists, his passions led him to attend the State University of New York Oneonta where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business. After graduating, Steven fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving across the country from his home state of Connecticut to San Diego.
With over 8 years of operations experience, Steven began his hospitality career as a guest service agent. His “jack of all trades” personality led him to work in nearly every department of a hotel. As RAR’s Corporate Marketing Manager, Steven is able to combine all of his hospitality knowledge with his analytical, creative and tech-savvy mind to ensure our company and our hotels are appropriately communicating value to our guests and staying ahead of technology trends.
A former multi-sport athlete, Steven is the definition of a team player. His passion in life is to inspire others and help them achieve their greatest dreams.
